Soy Good Party

Ever wonder what you could have in common with stars like Pam Anderson, Woody Harrelson, Alicia Silverstone, and Tobey McGuire? Become a vegan, and fame with be yours! Ok, not really. We doubt you’re a vegan and also doubt you’ve given the soy lifestyle a whirl (plus there is more to celebrity than your diet), but maybe it’s time to test those vegan waters with a party dedicated to the glorious soybean. So invite some friends, light a few soy based candles and crack open some vegan cookbooks to find out what’s soy good about this healthy way of life.

DECORATIONS

  • A party dedicated to soy and a minimalistic lifestyle should have minimal decorations. Keep it simple with soy candles, teacups filled with soy crayons (the novelty of the crayons will make a great conversation starter) bowls of edamame and soy nuts to both decorate and much on, and some books and periodicals on soy, veganism, and overall natural living. Some examples:
  • Use solid neutral or white colored linens and regular china and utensils (nothing disposable).

FOOD AND DRINK MENU

Recreate this vegan, soy based menu. Choose organic, non-GMO products. Recipes from Super Soy:

  • Appetizer: Spinach Dip
  • Entrée: Shells with Soy Sausage Bolognese
  • Dessert: Café Mocha Pudding Cake
  • Cocktail: Sunshine Punch – a fizzy orange/peach/strawberry flavored drink.

ENTERTAINMENT

GAMES

Since it is still winter, we suggest some indoor party games that keep you active and wake up your inner child:

  • Create an obstacle course
  • Musical Chairs
  • Hide and Seek
  • Tug of War

ATTIRE

  • What you wear is up to you, but clothing should be vegan. In other words, no clothing made from animal products such as leather, fur, and silk.

LAST MINUTE TIPS

A nice parting gift for your guests is to give them each a lovely bar of soy soap and cards with the recipes from the party printed out and all tied together with a nice ribbon.

And as always, remember to bring your camera!
