Tiffani Amber Thiessen celebrates her 35th birthday today. To honor the beloved actress who brought to life Kelly Kapowski, we know a Saved by the Bell party is in order. The possibilities of where this event can go are endless. Do we recreate The Max, or maybe set up Mr. Belding’s office? Should there be a mention of Miss Bliss? What about The College Year and The New Class? Keeping things a bit more simple and starting small, let’s focus on the core six characters and seasons 1 – 5.
INVITATION TYPE
- Text Message – we understand certain circles may, ahem, look down upon such an event, so be stealth and invite only your true fan friends to the event.
DECORATIONS
- The goal behind decorating for this event is to make your home look a bit like the setting of a high school pep rally. Show your Bayside High Tigers spirit with balloons, table covers, plates, napkins, utensils, pompoms, confetti, and more in the colors maroon, gray, and white.
- Set up your food table as a cross between a cafeteria buffet and a spread you’d find at a high school dance. Plastic lunch trays and a punch bowl would add an amazing touch.
FOOD AND DRINK MENU
This menu is a mix of high school cafeteria/comfort food fare combined with famous teen-friendly eats.
- Appetizer: Bagel Bites
-
Entrée: Meatloaf, Tater Tots, Green Beans, and Gravy
Use your favorite meat loaf, green bean, and gravy recipes and be sure to include some Ore-Ida tater tots.
-
Dessert:
- Cranberry Fruit Jello Mold (Kraft.com)
- Hostess snack cakes such as Twinkies and Cupcakes
-
Cocktail: Party Punch from All Recipes
This classic fruit punch is served in a punch bowl, of course. Cross your fingers that one of your guests spikes it.
ENTERTAINMENT
- Select your favorite episodes to play on DVD. You can find the complete series through Amazon.
- The show’s theme song is essential. Did you also know the series released a soundtrack in 1995? It’s still available for purchase all over the net. Take things one step further by organizing a choreographed dance to “Friends Forever.”
GAMES
- Saved by the Bell Board Game – good luck finding a copy, though don’t be surprised if some of your die-hard fan friends so happen to show up with it.
- Drinking game – take a drink every time Screech is shoved in a locker, Zach takes a time out, Slater makes fun of Jessi, etc.
ATTIRE
- Get decked out in 90′s gear and come dressed as your favorite character! (Remember Caravicci’s are a must-have if you’re going as Slater). This includes Mr. Belding and Violet Bickerstaff (Tori Spelling’s character).
- Show your Bayside High spirit with a t-shirt and paint your face maroon.
LAST MINUTE TIPS
Don’t forget the Zach Morris phone – a perfect accessory.
And as always, remember to bring your camera!
