New Years Day Hangover Party

party by anna

Still recovering from last night's
soiree but have a slew of folks you're obligated to see this New Year's
Day? Chances are many of your friends are in the same boat. So today,
gather the gang together and make a party out of getting over that
nasty hangover. The name of the game is comfort and wellness, so put on
the sweats, keep the music low, and have plenty of pain relievers and
hydrating drinks on hand.

INVITATION TYPE

  • Text Message - we bet you'll want to spend little or no time and effort gathering up the gang.

DECORATIONS

  • Happy New Year decorations – balloons, streamers, and other
leftovers from the party the night before can be put to use again.
    Avoid noisemakers.
  • Pillows and blankets – fill the room with them to create plenty of spaces for guests to curl up and feel comfortable.

FOOD AND DRINK MENU

  • Appetizers: Saltines and Other Crackers, Cheese, Raw Veggies to munch on.
Keep these food options bland for the guests who prefer non-greasy remedy options.
  • Entrée: An order from your favorite pizza place.
On a day like today, no one wants to cook, and many guests will thank you for the comfort food.
  • Dessert: Pedialyte Freezer Pops
  • Cocktail: Hair of the Dog
    Find out what folks were
drinking last night and have some of those beverages on hand to take
the edge of. If they still can't stomach it, stick to water and soft
    drinks.

ENTERTAINMENT

  • Soft, soothing music in the background. You might even want to consider a nature sounds CD or playlist.
  • Fun, feel good, even mindless movies. We like (appropriately) The Hangover, Coming to America, Wedding Crashers, and Almost Famous.
  • Find a marathon on TV – trashy VH1 Celebreality, E! Countdowns, etc.

GAMES

  • It's pretty doubtful folks will want to play games on a day like
today. If anything, just have a deck of cards or some classic board
    games off to the side.

ATTIRE

  • Comfy Clothes, sweats, pajamas. Do not dress to impress.

LAST MINUTE TIPS

Keep this party super chill and just enjoy each other's company. If
the conversation isn't flowing, keep that TV or movies on. Some friends
may not be feeling social at all if they are not feeling well. Have a
spare bedroom or quiet, private space available if someone needs to lie
down or get away for a bit. Also be sure to have plenty of pain
relievers on hand and give a couple of options – Tylenol, Advil, Aleve,
etc.

And as always, remember to bring your camera!
