Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away, on my way to where the air is sweet! Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street? Happy 40th anniversary to Sesame Street!

 

INVITATION TYPE

  • Snail Mail Be creative with your invitations, decorating with your favorite Sesame Street characters!

 

DECORATIONS

Recreate Sesame Street in your very own home.

  • Make a big "Sesame Street" street sign and hang it near the entrance of your party area.
  • Build Big Bird's nest- you can also use this for seating.
  • Display a garbage can for Oscar the Grouch.
  • Display toys and stuffed animals of whatever Sesame Street characters you can- Tickle Me Elmo is a necessity. Tell your guests to bring their Sesame Street stuff from home, too!
  • Use colorful place settings and balloons to set a fun and cheerful tone for your party! You can also purchase Sesame Street party decorations.

 

FOOD AND DRINK MENU

Check out "C is for Cooking" and other kid cookbooks for more ideas!

  • Appetizer: Alphabet Soup
  • Entrée: Mini Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches
  • Dessert: Cookies, cookies, and more cookies!
  • Cocktail: Have a variety of kid-friendly juice (and milk for cookie-dipping, of course!)

ENTERTAINMENT

Have a Sesame Street marathon! Don't forget your favorite older episodes! Also consider the 40 Years DVD.

 

GAMES

  • Sesame Street Sing-A-Longs
  • Arts and Crafts: Set up a table with all kinds of art supplies (plus Sesame Street coloring and activity books) and let the kids be creative! Be sure to have paint, markers, crayons, glue, paper, feathers, glitter, and more!
  • Learn the alphabet in Sign Language

 

ATTIRE

  • Keep it comfortable and casual!

 

LAST MINUTE TIPS

Be sure to have so much fun, even Oscar won't be grouchy!
