Dairy Alternatives Party

Well our lactose intolerant and otherwise non dairy eating friends, as promised, we have a party for you, too. In the ironic world that is ours, June also happens to be Dairy Alternatives Month. So tonight chill with your friends and enjoy some dairy-free delights.

INVITATION TYPE

DECORATIONS

Much like our Soy Good Party, the feel of this event should be clean, healthy, and inviting.

  • Neutral or white colored linens
  • Real china and silverware
  • Candles
  • Plants, like a bamboo plant, or fresh flowers
  • Bowls of dariy-free chocolate or other dairy-free snacks (nuts, candy, etc) to munch on.

FOOD AND DRINK MENU

ENTERTAINMENT

Entertainment is not a huge focus with this party, so our recommendation is to have some crowd-friendly music like pop or Top 40. You can also have the TV on and let the guests pick and choose what they like. That is, if you're not engrossed in your eating and activities.

GAMES

  • Enroll your guests and yourself into a Dairy-Free Challenge! The challenge lasts 10 days, but you can spend the time figuring out rules and logistics. Pool together some money, and any guest who makes it through the challenge can be rewarded a dairy-free cookbook.
  • Recipe Exchange and Conversion. Have each guest bring a copy of their favorite dairy-based recipe. Work together to convert the recipes to dairy free.

ATTIRE

Just as with the Dairy Party, clothing can just be kept casual. However, since the party is a Dairy Alternatives Party, we suggest you be respectful and not wear anything with cow print or made from leather.

LAST MINUTE TIPS

Act as a support group with your buds as you take your dairy free challenge. Oh, and we think those who are naturally allergic or intolerant to dairy should not participate as they have been dairy free awhile.

And as always, remember to bring your camera!
